The Weekender – 12 Exceptional Cocktails

Listen, Tipsters, finding a good cocktail can sometimes feel like a treasure hunt in Amman. Well, we’ve found the treasure and we’re here to share it with you. Next time you’re looking for an exceptional cocktail, look no further than this list.

Get the party started with a frozen margarita from Red’s. If you’re really looking to party, order a double. You won’t regret it…well, until the next morning.

A good old fashioned at a five star hotel? Groundbreaking. But actually, the Old Fashioned at La Capitale Bar and Lounge offers a self-described “seven minutes of magic” for your tastebuds.

Nothing cures a hangover like a good ol’ bloody mary. The Red Snapper at the bougie St. Regis Bar is exactly what the doctor ordered after a night out.

Okay, hear us out: the classic Negroni but with a chocolate twist. Mario at Bonita created his own (and might we say amazing) Chocolate Negroni featuring creme de cacao and bitters that you’ve got to try.

There’s nothing better than a refreshing Aperol Spritz on a warm spring day in Amman. Add District’s incredible rooftop to the mix and you hit the jackpot for a perfect day.

Update: you’ve been missing out on the luxury that is a Champagne Mojito. The Living Room at the W Amman made the mojito of our dreams by adding some bubbles to this classic cocktail.

The Espresso Martini is the G.O.A.T of martinis. Not only is it strong, it keeps you caffeinated all night long. Rustic Bar and Eatery upholds the integrity of this delicious drink and is the perfect way to end a happy hour.

Believe it or not, but Maestro’s sangria is something to write home about. It’s so good that it’s usually sold out by the time we get there… Our choice: Red sangria or bust.

This one’s for you basic banaat. The Golden Mule at Off The Record (OTR) will give you a little more street cred with its added cinnamon twist: goldschlager.

It’s the homemade spiced date Scotch that does it for us when it comes to the Spiced Diamond Sour at Caprice. Oh, and also the cardamom honey. Just go try it for yourself and you’ll understand.

Do you like Pina Coladas? And getting caught in the rain? We do if those Pina Coladas are from Copas Central. Bonus: their BOGO (Buy One Get One free) happy hour can’t be beat.

If you close your eyes real tight when you’re drinking Trader Vic’s Original Mai Tai you might just feel like you’re on an exotic island. Drink a few and you’ll be dancing on the tiki bar by the end of the night.

Cheers, Tipsters!
