The Daydreamer – June 2017: Week 3 Events

We’re at the half way mark this month, with only two weeks to go! So why not make the most out of the Ramadan vibes? This week, we’ve got a bunch of great, fun events- from tents to tarab. Plus, we’ve got you covered if you’re down to get some exercise in and if you have little ones running around that you want entertained. And if you’re not really feeling the Ramadan vibe, worry not. We’ve got a couple off-beat events for you too.

Cycling Jabal LWeibdeh & Iftar @ Amman Cycling Club 
Monday, June 12 @ 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Why not kill two birds with one stone? This Monday, The Amman Cycling Club is meeting up in Lweibdeh to start the tour of the neighborhood with a 8 km ride. Afterwards you’ll get to sit down and reward yourself for the exercise with a healthy iftar meal and natural juices! Make sure you wear comfy clothing! Ramadan Self Defense Workshop @ SheFighter
Thursday, June 15 @ 10:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

How about exercise with a cause? This week, SheFighter is organizing an awesome Ramadan Self-Defense session for women over 14 years old! You’ll learn how to defend yourself with smart and easy techniques, escape a choke hold, a ground attack and a weapon attack. You’ll learn where the human body’s weak points are and when to strike! This 1.5 hr seminar is definitely worth it.

If you’re looking for some awesome Arabic sounds, then look no further. This Friday, Jordan’s beloved Majd Ayoub is going to be showcasing his tunes live at Caspian Restaurant! This melodic night will hit that traditional spot for tunes your looking to itch! Check out the page for reservations.

Harget Kart Live at Salateen Tent @ Hawa Beirut

If you’re looking for an experience, this is it. Rebal and his friends will be singing some epic Arab classics this week! But here’s the catch…you can’t just go and listen. Ramadan Orphan Iftar @ Burc Jordanian Turkish Schools
Saturday, June 17 @ 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. 

How about Iftar with a cause? An Iftar is being organized for Orphans at the Burj Jordanian Turkish Schools this Saturday, to help them celebrate, eat and enjoy the holiness of the month. There will be activities, including telematches, face painting, a jumping castle and lots more to put smiles on their faces. If you’d like to volunteer, check out the page for registration. Darwsha @ Terra Sancta College

Come out to enjoy a night of Darwsha. Dervishes have always sought out mysticism on their journey, and using song and music communicate a happiness to those around them. This Monday, these Dervishes will be performing a collection of the songs they have used to fulfill their lives and delight others. It’s important to note that these performers rely on the charity of others to sustain themselves…keep that in mind.

Freestyle Night – Arab Falcon Summer 2017 @ Orthodox Club

Looking for something totally different this month? Well, Arab Falcon has got you covered. This Thursday, Arab Falcon’s Summer nights is hosting more than just good music. There will be American and Arabic Trap music, in an epic live freestyle rap battle. This event is held in good spirits, so bring your positive vibes and come party!
