The Daydreamer – It’s Showtime!

Musicians, filmmakers, and artists of all kinds are being thrust into the limelight this week, for a diverse array of events that will have you begging for an encore!

Massar Egbari @Maestro Restaurant & Bar

Egyptian band Massar Egbari will be here in Amman on Monday for a performance you won’t soon forget! Make your way over to Maestro to listen to this Alexandria-based group rock out with their unique blend of rock, jazz, blues and oriental music. This ‘alternative Egyptian’ musical style is all their own, and it’s something you have to check out!

Follow Palestinian director Leila Sansour as she explores the historic town of Bethlehem, the city where she grew up, in “Open Bethlehem.” Gathering more than 700 hours of intimate video footage, the end result of Sansour’s 10-year endeavor is an emotional journey through Bethlehem that paints the city in an entirely new light.

A Movie Night Under the Stars: The Conjuring @Subshop

It’s time for yet another Movie Night Under the Stars at Subshop, and this time, it’s going to have you leaping out of your seat! Enjoy a showing of The Conjuring, a supernatural horror film that will both terrify and delight you. Urban Canvas Exhibition @Zara Centre

Monday, December 5th – Thursday, December 8th at 10:00 a.m.

Picks for the Winter Holidays Exhibition @Nabad Art Gallery

If you’re looking for a mix of art, music, and more, head down to the opening of the “Picks for the Winter Holiday” exhibition at Nabad Art Gallery. Featuring 15 diverse artists – with showcases from jewelry designer Hania Kuzbari and artist Shereen Audi, as well as new works from artists Basel Uraiqat, Boutros Al Maari, Farouk Lambaz, Ghada Dahdaleh, Hind Al Jirmi, Jeanne Al Mufti, Mahmoud Gahalla, Nour Al Taher, Rafik Majzoub, Samah Samaha, Samer Kurdi, Shayma Aziz, and Zainab Mahdi – this exhibition brings together an incredible array of high-profile talents. The Conscience of Art Exhibition @Royal Cultural Center

As part of this year’s Karama Human Rights Film Festival, the Conscience of Art exhibition is a real, harrowing, and often heartbreaking look at social justice issues around the world. The exhibit features photography by French photojournalist Rafael Yaghobzadeh, chronicling the refugee crisis in Europe. This is one exhibition you can’t afford to miss.

Optic Vibes by Mohammad Awwad @Jacaranda Images

For his second solo exhibition at Jacaranda Images, local artist Mohammad Awwad explores artistic themes that delve into politics, economics, and culture. Make your way down to Jacaranda on Wednesday to attend the opening of the exhibition, which runs through December 31st.
