Ramadan is here and time seems to move just a little bit slower, doesn’t it? We know the first week is the hardest, but we also know you know the tips to get through it. So take it easy this week, and get yourself in transition mode. But for those who learned after Iftar #1 not to over-do the eating and getting into a food coma… we have a list of a few Ramadan events you might want to check out if you have the energy! Slowly but surely the night owls will arise!

Make Em Happy Orphans Iftar @ Oxford Schools
Wednesday, May 31 @ 2:00 p.m.

Children are the future. This Ramadan, do good by making a child smile and laugh. This Wednesday, 50 orphans from Jabal Al-Nasr will be gathered at Oxford Schools. The children will be divided into teams, and groups of volunteers will take on a group of kids to help eat, pray, enjoy some entertainment and distribute gifts to the kids! Tis the time to rejoice and spread the love.

Price: 8 JDs (includes the meal of the child, yourself, the gift and activity price)

Ramadan Village @ Mecca Mall
May 27-June 30 @ All Day

There’s nothing like taking in the full essence of Ramadan by being out among the people. This week, enjoy the Ramadan Village at Mecca Mall from May 27 – June 30. Shop and walk around the Ramadan Village, find cute knick-knacks, take your kids to the kid’s area and buy some cool handmade, local products.

Family Carnival @ EXIT Club
Thursday, June 1 @ 8:30 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.

In the mood for a family carnival this Ramadan? It’s a great way to entertain the family after iftar. Open bazaars, food courts, kids areas, family sections and more… there’s something for everyone. The carnival, hosted by Handy, is going to run from after iftar till suhoor on Thursday, so make sure you book your family!

Price: 3 JDs per adult, kids get in free!

Jamming Nights @ Jameeda Khanum
7:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

The Jameeda Khanum stage is  yours. Your musical talent, whatever genre it might be, is welcome to let loose and jam. Express who you are with your style of music, whatever it may be!

Wadi Himara Short Hike @ Experience Jordan
Friday, June 2 @ 7:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Feel like going on a hike this Friday? If you’re up to it and you can, then Experience Jordan is hosting a hike through Wadi Himara by the Dead Sea. This 4 hour, 3 km hike is going to be easy, it’s going to be moderate, and it’ll end with a lunch and pause to take in the amazing scenery with new friends. Your feet will get wet! Souq Naama @ Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts
Saturday, June 3 @ 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Every Saturday this Ramadan, The Princess Taghreed Foundation and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), with the support of the Government of Finland, are pleased to announce the opening of Naama Market. The market supports women’s entreprenurship projects from all over the Kingdom by training, marketing, developing and help selling theier products. Support a good cause and find some aweseome things to buy- 2 birds 1 stone!

Souq Jara @ Rainbow Street
Thursday & Fridays@ 8:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

The ever so famous yearly Souq Jara is back! This beautiful market runs post ftoor every Thursday and Friday during Ramadan and is home to a great discovery stroll. Filled with fantastic products, hand made items, jewelery, art, shirts and funky items- you’ll definitly find something worth buying! The market is also a place where artists and vendors showcase their treasures, and a food corner will keep you sustained when you need it!
