It’s July and we’re reigning in the second half of 2017! It’s officially summertime and that means it’s time to get your butt in gear to go out and have fun! That’s why we’ve got you covered, from rooftop latin dances, to a swim/hike in a Wadi, to story time with the kids, a film festival and more! Get out your calendars and start penciling in these events!

Rooftop Latin Fever @ Azure Rooftop

How about the good type of fever? We’re talking Latin Fever. Tempo Dance Academy is hosting their annual summer Latin Night! Dance the night away under the stars, with awesome people and great music. Laila Sabagh @ Maestro Restaurant and Bar

If you’re in the mood for the classics, you’re in luck. Laila Sabagh will be showcasing her musical talents by covering the best of Um Kalthoum! This night of Tarab hits the right notes if you’re down to travel back in musical time, enjoy a chill night with friends and bask in some good vibes.

Farmers Market Amman @ Orthodox Club

How about spending a half day walking around, and checking out the best Farmers Market Amman has to offer? With fresh harvest, organic and chemical free produce, handcrafted items and more, from over 30 vendors, you’ll have plenty to choose from. There will be a playground and a trampoline for kids and a food corner to sit down and chill as you shop!

Amman Live Art Show @ Ali & Rama’s Gallery 
Thursday, July 6 @ 4:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

In cooperation with Jotun and the Greater Amman Municipality, a live art show will be held this Thursday to support local artists unleash their creative visions. Each artist will have their own dedicated site, and it’s a sight to see! Come watch as these creative geniuses paint the streets of Amman with the beautiful colors and designs! Four Hands Piano Concert @ Darat Al Funun
Sunday, July 2 @ 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. 

This concert is part of the 2017 “Falastin al Hadara” program, and will be performed by Jordanian pianist Zina Asfour and French pianist Pierre Morabia. They’ll play classics like Debussy, Chabrier, and Ravel. In addition, Zina Asfour will perform a piece by Jordanian composer Tarek Younis in dedication to Palestine. It’s a wonderful way to spend a musical evening.

Franco Arab Film Festival @ The Royal Film Commission 
Wednesday, July 5 @ 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Love films? Love French films? Well, there’s no need to travel far because The Royal Film Commission Jordan is launching the Franco Arab Film Festival in its’ 23rd edition! This event will screen the movie “Zizou”, in the presence of its director Férid Boughedir. The film was selected to represent Tunisia in the New York African Film Festival, as one of the best films from Africa. It revolves around the People’s Revolution in the tone of political satire. Summer Self Defense Workshop @ SheFighter
Friday, July 7 @ 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. 

Invest a little bit into learning the basics of self defense with SheFighter’s Self Defense workshop this summer for women! You’ll learn smart techniques, like escaping a choke hold, a ground attack and weapon attack. You’ll also understand where the human body’s weak points are and when to strike. Wadi Hidan Cool Off Swim/Hike @ Experience Jordan
Saturday, July 8 @ 7:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 

It’s hot as hell and we all need to cool off a little bit. Why not do so with an awesome walk/swim through Wadi Hidan with Experience Jordan? You’ll experience the dramatic wild mountain scenery, as well as a surprising amount of vegetation and water. A beautiful black basaltic canyon filled with narrow gorges, vegetation and fresh natural pools awaits. Asamiah’s Summer Festival @ Asamiah International School
July 2 @ 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. 

Spend the summer playing dress up, singing, dancing, gardening, playing games and having tea parties. And if you’re more into superheroes- worry not. You can come be a superhero, pick your power and save the world! This event is not just for one day, but rather a summer filled with fun activities for the kids aged 4-15! There will be programs and sports activities, like Arts & Crafts, ROBOTICS sessions for our little engineers with our Tech Mania instructors, Origami classes, weekly trips and a weekly Water Fun Fiesta! Story Time Ages 3-5 @ Books and More Jordan
Saturday, July 8 @ 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. 

Stories are important to learning. Why not take your little ones this Saturday to Books and More for Story Time? Short stories will be read to keep your kids engaged, and an activity will be held post-ending. Come and enjoy interacting with other moms and find play dates for your kids!
